Meet Leah Boyes
Leah has completed Reiki I and Reiki II certification training with me. She is a bright light wherever she goes, and I have been honored to train her in the loving modality of Reiki. Since completing Reiki level II certification, Leah has been utilizing her skills to comfort those in hospice care. She has simultaneously been completing her training as an End-of-Life Doula to fulfill her calling of supporting people as they transition from this realm to the next.
Leah has shared her journey thus far …
1.) Why were you drawn to Reiki?
“I learned about Reiki from a very trusted friend, and my curiosity about it grew over time. A chance encounter with another Reiki practitioner resulted in me receiving Reiki from her and loving it. After just a couple of sessions with 3 different practitioners, all with their own style and vibe, I felt like I could actually do it, too. That I needed to. My inspiration was to use it for my family, and myself, for personal growth and healing in my immediate circle.”
2.) What is your favorite thing about Reiki?
“I love that you can do it anywhere! I love the confidence it gives me, the personal power I feel when I tap into the Universe and let the Light flow through me. It brings a feeling of connection to all things and it helps me to keep my ego in check. I am a channel for a Love that is both in me and all around me. I love to just trust the process and know that the world changes for the better, even just a little bit, every time someone receives or performs Reiki. I also love how grounded I can feel by doing self Reiki--it's a healer of all things, physical, mental, and emotional.”
3.) How have you shared your Reiki skills?
“My skills very unexpectedly took me down a path I never envisioned for myself. Like most people, I imagine, I came out of my Reiki II training wondering how the heck this gift was going to manifest for me. Not long after my second Reiki attunement, I had a death in the family. Reiki was a big part of that journey, and I made the realization that I wanted to "help people die"---but in the purest, most lovingly energetic way. Death is a process; everyone has, or will someday have, their own idea of a "good death". I am here to help those who want to discover what they want at the end of their life, and ease them (and their families) through the process of their passing.”
4.) What impact do you hope to make with your Reiki skills?
“I hope to send out positive Reiki energy everywhere I go, to everyone I encounter. I hope to help those I love to actualize their pain and help them heal themselves. I hope to have people who are non-believers of this practice to be open to new and beautiful ways of moving through the world, which is what Reiki has helped me to do. I hope to help people move from this realm to the next with the feelings of calm, comfort, and love that any dying person deserves.”
